Mary is a first generation Filipina-American, who was born and raised in Alaska. Her father provided as a small business owner, with several restaurants and a convenience store. Her mother held two jobs, as a secretary to the Alaska Museum and State of Alaska. As the oldest of three siblings, Mary is proud sister to one U.S. Marine and one U.S. Navy Chief. Her parents pursued the American dream from humble beginnings and instilled the value to be of service to mankind.
Mary graduated from University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services/Management. She was a teacher in the private sector for 10 years, until she began a career in Law Enforcement (where she has currently been with her Department for the past 13 years).
Mary has lived in her District for 20 years. She has been married for 16 years and is a mom to 5 kids. She and her husband and are in their second year of Homeschooling their kids, due to the failed system. Mary takes her role as mother to be most sacred. Subsequently, her reason for running.
Aside from her passion for public service, Mary has a passion for the Martial Arts and survival training. For two decades, she's trained in various weapons and hand-to-hand combat training with former military personnel. She is a certified Krav Maga Instructor and has taught others (specifically women and children) in this reality-based, self-defense system. Mary is also certified in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (F.E.M.A.) community response system, Pediatric Herbalism from The Human Path, an Emergency Birthworker with emphasis on field medicine from Herbal Medics Academy, a certified kids' Yoga Instructor, and certified Knife Fighting Instructor under Combat Assault Tactics system. Mary's skills were obtained with intent to assist her community, during any austere situation and times of uncertainty.
